Meditation for Organ & Tenor Saxophone
Marking a New Page in the History of Jazz Organ! A rare and extraordinary duo project: Pipe Organ (Ryoko Iwasaki) × Saxophone (Nao Takeuchi). Their fusion and collisions intertwine to create a profound and spiritual world. While most jazz organists play the Hammond organ, Ryoko Iwasaki performs on the grand pipe organ, more commonly heard in churches and classical concert halls. Iwasaki is a gifted musician who wears two hats—jazz pianist and pipe organist. In this work, the majestic timbre of her pipe organ blends exquisitely with the elegant, lustrous sound of saxophone, played by Nao Takeuchi, often referred to as “Japan’s Coltrane.” The uniquely weighty resonance, unlike anything else, is also sure to delight audiophiles.
